Board member and Chair of our new Speakers Bureau delivered an informative talk to members and guests at the 10/28 Thursday morning Rotary Club of Shades Mountain Sunrise breakfast. Through the use of a slide presentation and his own personal experience with this disease (his wife, Toni, is currently being treated for ovarian cancer), Dave enlightened the group about the facts concerning this "silent killer," as well as his first-hand knowledge of the effects of this disease. There was a great deal of interest as these Rotarians listened and learned about the risks, symptoms and best practices for treatment and testing. At the end of his presentation, Dave took questions and also handed out literature asking that those attending share that information with their wives, sisters, daughters, and family members.
