Since the inception of the Laura Crandall Brown Ovarian Cancer Foundation, board president, Jim Crandall, has envisioned the development of a public service announcement to raise awareness to the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer. This dream has now become a reality. Through the collaborative efforts of the production staff at Alabama Power, foundation board members, and cancer survivors, three 30-second announcements have been produced which tell the story from three unique and different perspectives.

Mr. Crandall is very pleased with the outcome stating, "September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, and we are very pleased to have this project completed in time to begin broadcasting during this important time. A key part of our mission is to raise awareness. Women, both young and old, should be aware of the signs and symptoms of this disease. I want to thank all the talented staff at the production studio of Alabama Power for their innovative ideas and tireless hours in shooting the footage that transformed our ideas into these very effective videos".

These PSA's are being distributed to local television stations to include Fox 6, NBC13, CBS42, Channel 33/40, CW21 and WABM/My 68 for airing during the month of September. They will also be used for Speakers Bureau presentations. The foundation continues to work on a longer full-length video that will provide an even more comprehensive tool for educating the public.
