Cecilia Crandall, mother of Laura Crandall Brown, and Lois Bradley, an 8-year ovarian cancer survivor, presented on Tuesday, September 14, at the monthly meeting of the Ladybugs organization held at Moody City Hall in Moody, Alabama.

The Ladybugs organization is a group of women who provide scholarships to high school girls in the Leeds and Moody area. Ladybugs stands for Ladies Believing, Understanding, Guiding and Serving. This group meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at a luncheon either in Moody or in Leeds.

Approximately 20 women enjoyed a wonderful lunch followed by their monthly business meeting. Afterward, Mrs. Crandall presented a video produced by Alabama Power and featuring several participants; some cancer survivors, some family members, some caregivers, and even a doctor, all sharing information about their own personal experience with ovarian cancer. Mrs. Crandall presented slides which provided statistics and additional information on the symptoms of this disease, and provided information on how women can be tested with current regimens available to them. Mrs. Bradley also commented on her personal experience and answered questions at the end of the presentation. Literature and other materials were available to the Ladybugs to further their knowledge and outreach to others.

The LCBOCF appreciates the opportunity to share information and hopefully make a difference in the lives of women of all ages.  If you are looking for a speaker for your organization, click here and complete our Speakers Bureau request.
