On Sunday, March 11, dancers and dance teams from area high schools came together to perform at our first ever Choreography for a Cause, held at Vestavia High School. Our participating teams were from:

  • Vestavia Hills High School Dance Department
  • Pleasant Grove High School
  • Homewood High School
  • Thompson Middle School

The performance also included a solo performance by Kate Weatherly who performed a special Irish Dance. Additional solo performances were Anna Donze of the Varsity Rebelettes performing a solo choreographed by Nealey Towns, and Emily Pilkerton, a Varsity Rebelette, who danced a routine choreographed by Brittany Bates. For a long-play presentation of photos of all the dancers, click here. (Run-time for this presentation is approximately 15 minutes.)

The opening dance was performed by Chandler and Zoe Champion (and their dad) to the song Cinderella by Stephen Curtis Chapman.  Click here to enjoy photos from this special presentation dedicated to Laura, (If you prefer to view the high-quality video, play it here. Please allow time for download as it is a very large video.)

The teams collectively raised over $8,000 to support the Foundation. The winning team was Vestavia Hills High School Dance Department. Vestavia's girls will be featured in a full-page ad in an upcoming issue of Birmingham Magazine. All the girls received special swag bags containing souvenir t-shirts and other valuable prizes and gifts.
