A large part of the Foundation's mission is to raise awareness to the symptoms of ovarian cancer. Laura's mom, Cecilia, is very dedicated to this important area. On Monday, January 21, Cecilia gave a very informative and powerful presentation to a group of about 30 members of United Methodist Women at Trinity United Methodist Church in Homewood. The ladies were very interested and asked relevant questions during the session.

Lunch was served following the meeting and conversations continued about the Foundation's work and about many of the ladies' personal experiences with their own medical situations as they might relate to the information presented.

The United Methodist Women organization's purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. We are so thankful to this organization, particularly its president Cynthia Parris, for allowing us to be a part of their January meeting as well as their donation to our Foundation.

If you would like to book a speaker for your organization, simply complete our online form and you will be contacted. We would be happy to travel outside of the Birmingham area. This is a free service and is an important facet of our mission so no group is too small.
