Jim 'n Nicks in Gardendale hosted the latest Speakers Bureau presentation for the Foundation as Cecilia Crandall spoke to the monthly meeting of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary of Council 10567 on Thursday evening, January 31, 2013. This group is very special to the Foundation as they supported our original fundraising efforts by hosting and working a pancake breakfast in January of 2010. It was wonderful to reconnect with them and bring them up to date on the progress of the Foundation since that time.

Since our mission includes raising awareness of the symptoms and treatment of ovarian cancer, the purpose of the presentation was to do just that. The attendees interacted regularly with questions and Cecilia gave specific feedback which was on point and relevant. One attendee, Barbara Rucker, is herself an ovarian cancer survivor and shared her experience and story with the group.

Mrs. Crandall commented, "We are very glad to have the opportunity to be a part of the Ladies meeting and hope the information shared was both informative and useful. We appreciate both their early support and ongoing support of our efforts."
