September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness month. A large part of the Foundation's mission is to raise awareness to the symptoms of ovarian cancer. This mission is even more important during the month of September. Laura's mom, Cecilia, is very dedicated to this aspect of our work.

On Thursday, September 5, Cecilia Crandall gave a very informative and powerful presentation to a group of about 50 employees of Protective Life Insurance in Homewood. Men and women alike were very interested and asked relevant questions after the session. Many took literature and all attendees came away with a better understanding of the symptoms of ovarian cancer and approach to getting the medical help needed early.

Thanks to Theresa Cook and Jimmie Botcher for helping to coordinate and spread the word about this "lunch and learn" session. Make sure to click the more pictures link to see additional photos from this day.

If you would like to book a speaker for your organization, simply complete our online form and we will contact you. We would be happy to travel outside of the Birmingham area. This is a free service and is an important facet of our mission so no group is too small.
