On Sunday, November 17, Criss Smiley provided a wonderful session for our CanSurvive gathering at the Brookwood Wellness Center in Vestavia. About a dozen people attended bringing their favorite apron, knife and cutting board to help prepare a great appetizer feast for the holidays.

Criss, who is a chef at DoubleTree by Hilton (on Birmingham's southside) and also wife of Jennifer Smiley, CanSurvive Treasurer, provided all the food for the feast. He enlisted participants in slicing, dicing, grating, squeezing, rolling and juicing the many foods that went into creating a wonderful culinary buffet of foods suitable for any holiday gathering. Attendees learned a lot about culinary practices along the way.

Thanks to Criss and Jennifer for facilitating this awesome meeting. Our next meeting will be on Sunday, December 15, at the Brookwood Wellness Center.
