On Wednesday, November 13, we were pleased to be a part of the Alpha Delta Kappa November meeting and provide awareness of ovarian cancer symptoms to this wonderful group of women at the West Blocton Middle School Media Center/Library. After a brief business meeting, Cecilia Crandall gave a very informative and powerful presentation to the group. She was interrupted several times with very specific questions about risk factors and her experience of the symptoms of the disease based on Laura's journey. Afterwards, Debbie Manis, who coordinated the presentation, commented, "Everyone learned a great deal and we were so appreciative of your time. You have a super program and I went away thinking how every woman/female needs to hear it."

Headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, Alpha Delta Kappa is an international honorary organization for women educators. It has more than 1,300 chapters located in towns and cities in every state in the U.S., and around the world in Australia, Canada, Jamaica, Mexico and Puerto Rico.  The Alabama Alpha Alpha Chapter was chartered on February 23, 1958, and continues to work to further the educational efforts providing scholarships to worthy students in the community.

Thanks to Debbie Manis for helping to coordinate our efforts in organizing this meeting and spread the word about this session.

If you would like to book a speaker for your organization, simply complete our online form and we will contact you. We would be happy to travel outside of the Birmingham area. This is a free service and is an important facet of our mission so no group is too small.
