The Laura Crandall Brown Ovarian Cancer Foundation was awarded a $1,000 grant by the HERA Women’s Cancer Foundation in support of our September Awareness Campaign. The mission of HERA is to stop the loss of women from ovarian cancer by promoting Health, Empowerment, Research, and Awareness. In September the Laura Crandall Brown Ovarian Cancer Foundation joined efforts with the Norma Livingston Ovarian Cancer Foundation to promote awareness by providing women in our community with reusable bags with the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer. With the help from HERA Women’s Cancer Foundation, five thousand bags were distributed to boutiques, hospitals, nail and hair salons, and other women-related businesses. Awareness and education are important to the mission of the LCBOCF and we were pleased to work with HERA and the Norma Livingston Ovarian Cancer Foundation to further awareness in the Birmingham community.
