Mary Anne King is the newest Executive Director for the Laura Crandall Brown Ovarian Cancer Foundation. She joins the organization with more than seven years of fundraising and nonprofit management experience and an extensive background in media relations and special events.

“We’re delighted to have Mary Anne join the foundation,” Board President Jim Crandall said.  “She has the experience and commitment necessary to lead the organization’s growth and expand our impact in the early detection and treatment of ovarian cancer.”

Prior to joining the foundation, Mrs. King served as the Development Director for several local nonprofits, including Kid One Transport and AIDS Alabama, where she began her nonprofit career in 2007.  Mary Anne is a double graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies in 2003 and a Master of Public Administration in 2010.

“I am very excited to join in the important work of the Laura Crandall Brown Ovarian Cancer Foundation,” said King.  “I look forward to working with the board and other stakeholders to build upon the foundation’s history, strengths, and current success.”  

The mission of The Laura Crandall Brown Ovarian Cancer Foundation is to provide funding in support of research for the early detection and treatment of ovarian cancer.
