On Saturday, July 12, 2014, we had the pleasure of addressing the ASK AL KC (Alabama State Kouncil of Auxiliary Auxiliary Ladies of the Knights of Columbus) at their statewide meeting in Prattville. Cecilia Crandall spoke to this very interested group on the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer and how to recognize and seek treatment. The members in attendance participated by asking a number of questions not only about Laura's experience but about some general misnomers of this disease.

The meeting was held at the Montgomery Marriott in Prattville. Janie Carney, President of the organization requested our presentation via our online form from the website. She stated, "the more information that we can have, the better equipped we are to handle situations." One of those in attendance posted on our Facebook page saying "I was very moved by what you had to say. Thank you also for the wealth of information that you brought with you." ASK AL KC is organized and operated for the purpose of assisting the Knights of Columbus with their mission in the State of Alabama. The main objective of the State Auxiliary is to lend support to the auxiliaries within the State. They meet together three times each year in January, July and the Annual State Convention in April, in an effort to keep informed of events, to give us an opportunity to meet other auxiliary members and share ideas with one another. The organization also provides the opportunity to form friendships and serve Christ by serving our church, our community and each other. You may visit their website by clicking here.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share our story and this information with this wonderful group. If you would like to request a speaker for an upcoming group or event, please complete our online request. We will contact you to make the necessary arrangements. There is no charge associated with this service.

The Mission of The Laura Crandall Brown Ovarian Cancer Foundation is to provide funding in support of research in the early detection and treatment of ovarian cancer. It is imperative that we bring awareness and educate the public about this silent killer. By focusing on early detection - We have the chance to fight it, to beat it, to live!
