As a part of our mission, the Foundation strives to reach out to groups to provide more information on the signs and symptoms of ovarian and gyn cancers. On February 9, Cecilia Crandall, mother of Laura Crandall Brown were privileged to address the lunchtime meeting of the Arley Women's Club. Over 35 women attended the meeting which was held at the library in Arley. A delicious meal of chili and desserts was served just prior to the presentation. The tables were decorated beautifully with a Valentine theme.

Mrs. Crandall's presentation began with a brief video which included comments and discussions by ovarian cancer patients, their families and a doctor who specializes in treatment of women with these diseases. She went through a brief presentation afterwards which reiterated many of the points made in the video and thereafter answered questions posed by attendees. Board member Doris Moody spoke on the many fundraising efforts conducted by the Foundation which have resulted in funding of over $250,000 to multiple research facilities focusing on early detection screening.

Susan Ripp, Vice-President of the group, presented Mrs. Crandall with a generous donation at the end of her presentation. We are so grateful to have had this opportunity to spread awareness to these ladies during their monthly meeting.

The Arley Women's Club is a non-profit organization which emphasizes education and community growth.
