As a part of our mission, the Foundation strives to reach out to groups to provide more information on the signs and symptoms of ovarian and gyn cancers. On November 7, 2015, Diane Baer, 13-year ovarian cancer survivor and member of our Speakers Bureau, addressed the Josiah Brunson Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution at their monthly meeting held at the Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church in Pinson.

Mrs. Baer's presentation began with a brief video which included comments and discussions by ovarian cancer patients, their families and a doctor who specializes in treatment of women with these diseases. After the video, she went through a brief presentation which reiterated many of the points made in the video and then answered questions posed by attendees. Board member Doris Moody spoke on the many fundraising efforts conducted by the Foundation which have resulted in funding of over $250,000 to multiple research facilities focusing on early detection screening.

The Josiah Brunson Chapter was founded in 1974 and named for the patriot, Josiah Brunson. Learn more about the work of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Josiah Brunson Chapter by visiting their website.

Thanks to Mary Lewey, Regent for this DAR chapter, for the opportunity to spread awareness to these ladies during their monthly meeting. We enjoyed being invited to this event and sharing more about the mission of the Foundation.

If your group would like to request a speaker for your meeting or gathering, please contact us via our online speakers request form. There is no charge for this service and we will travel to present to your group.
