Taste of Teal 2016 Press Release

Birmingham, Ala., January 13, 2016 – The Laura Crandall Brown Foundation (LCBF) will host its “Taste of Teal Gala” on Saturday, March 12 starting at 6:00 p.m. in the Cahaba Grand Ballroom. The annual event is one of the organization’s premier fundraisers, featuring a seated dinner and drinks, live and silent auctions, casino games and live music. The foundation also bestows its “Legacy of Laura” honors on four members of the community at the Gala.

Mary Anne King, Executive Director of LCBF, is excited about the 2016 event’s honorees. “We received incredible nominations this year in the Healthcare Hero, Caregiver, and Survivor categories. Our corporate honoree is Long-Lewis Ford, which recently celebrated 100 years as a Ford franchisee. That just speaks to their tremendous commitment not only to their customers, but also to the greater community. They give back in a big way.

All four of our honorees have made a big difference in the lives of others and we are excited to celebrate their impact and accomplishments. Most importantly, the funds raised from this event will further our mission of research, awareness, and support.” Advance tickets for the gala are $75 per person through February 20th and $100 per person after 2/20. Tickets include dinner, drinks, and “play money” that can be used at the casino games. Patron tables are available for $750 and Sponsor tables start at $1,500. Visit www.thinkoflaura.org/TasteofTeal for more information or to purchase tickets.

About LCBF:

Every day, 247 women in the U.S. are diagnosed with a gynecologic cancer. 80% of women diagnosed with ovarian cancer are diagnosed late and will not live more than five years. Our mission is offering hope through research for early detection of ovarian cancer, empowering communities through gynecologic cancer awareness, and enriching lives through patient support. In 2015 the foundation educated thousands and assisted over 800 patients, providing both financial and emotional support. To date, the foundation has granted over $250,000 for early detection research of ovarian cancer.
