FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: January 19, 2017

Contact: Lindsay Giadrosich, Awareness Coordinator - lindsayg@thinkoflaura.org

January has been designated as Cervical Cancer Awareness Month. As a part of our mission, the Foundation strives to reach out to provide more information on the signs and symptoms of cervical and other GYN cancers. The Laura Crandall Brown Foundation is happy to have the opportunity to carry out our mission of raising awareness of cervical and other GYN cancers by setting up an awareness table in the lobby entrance by the north elevators of Princeton Baptist Medical Center on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, from 8:30 am until 2:00 pm. We look forward to sharing information and literature regarding the HPV vaccine and other materials on GYN cancers to those who come by our exhibit.  In order to highlight Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, we are excited to present this new PSA produced by Alabama Power featuring an actual cervical cancer survivor.

In addition, and as part of our community outreach to further our mission of raising awareness, we periodically present to groups on the importance of awareness to GYN cancer symptoms. On January 16, 2017, the Foundation was pleased to be able to address a wonderful group of the Ladies Auxiliary at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Hoover, Alabama.  Cecilia Crandall, mother of Laura Crandall Brown, addressed approximately 20 women at their monthly meeting. The presentation included information on the signs and symptoms of all GYN cancers. Also accompanying Mrs. Crandall was Doris Moody, a founding board member of the Foundation, and an advocate for awareness.  At the end of the presentation, the Ladies Auxiliary presented the foundation with a donation.

"We are so grateful to have these opportunities to spread awareness in our community during the month of January," stated the Foundation's Awareness Coordinator, Lindsay Giadrosich.

If your group would like to request a speaker for your meeting or gathering, please contact us via our online speakers request form. There is no charge for this service and we will be happy to travel to present at your meeting or set up an awareness table at your or event or health fair.
